Location
Wana Wana Island is located in Blackett Strait. Borders ArundeI Island to the south and Kolombanga Island to the north and New
Georgia Island and Kula Gulf to the northwest. A constricted passage was located at this location.
Wartime History
After the Battle of Kolombangara (Second Battle of Kula Gulf) during July 12-13, 1943, the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) began using this route to resupply Kolombanga Island.
