Location
Falas Island is an inner lagoon island in the north center of Truk Lagoon in Chuuk State (Truk) in the Federated States of Micronesia. To the southeast is Moen Island (Weno).
Wartime History
Falas Island was occupied by the Japanese. Later in the Pacific War, used a small controlled torpedo base was established on the southern side of the island manned by four Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) personnel maintaining two Man Controlled Torpedoes. Occupied by the Japanese until the official surrender of Japan in September 1945.
