Location Fefan Island is located in Truk Lagoon in Chuuk State (Truk) in the Federated States of Micronesia. At the northern portion of the island is Mount Iron (Mt. Iron) and at the center is Mount Ufuno (Mt. Ufuno). To the northeast Dublon Island (Tonoas, Tonowas), to the east is Truk Harbor, to the southeast is Uman Island, to the south is Tsis Island and to the west is Param Island (Parem) and Tarik Island. Wartime History Occupied by the Japanese for the duration of the Pacific War. Fefan Island was divided into four defense districts: North Defense District, East Defense District, South Defense District and West Defense District. Five piers provided access to the island including Wata Pier No. 4 at the northeast corner, Sabota Pier No. 3 at the southeast corner, Kukku Pier No. 2 and Church Pier No. 1 on the western shore and Pier No. 3 at the northwest corner.
