Location
Lat 37° 48' 16N Long 122° 16' 15W  Oakland is the largest city in Alameda County in central California in the United States of America (USA). Borders the East Bay inside San Francisco Bay and includes the Port of Oakland.

Wartime History
During World War II, the Port of Oakland was an important port facility and used for shipments of aircraft and equipment across the Pacific. Shipbuilding facilities including Moore Dry Dock Company that built ships and also scrapped vessels at the end of the Pacific War.

Oakland Airport
Still in use today as Oakland International Airport also known as Oakland Municipal Airport.

Locted at the edge of East Bay inside San Francisco Bay plus Pan American Airways China Clipper terminal

Port of Oakland
The Port of Oakland was a Point of Embarkation (POE) for cargo bound for the Pacific War. On January 15, 1944 five ships were at the Naval Supply Depot at Oakland including Navy stores ship USS Castor (AKS-1) that unloaded miscellaneous cargo. Liberty ship SS James Buchanan docked at 1425 to load cargo. Liberty ship SS Thomas J. Walsh docked at 1505 to load provisions. Supply ship MS Ward departed at 1700 and freighter SS Platano undocked at 1727.
