Location Mavia Island is a small roughly circular island off the eastern coast of Espiritu Santo (Santo) in Sanma Province in Vanuatu (Republic of Vanuatu, New Hebrides). Borders Undine Passage and Aesi Island to the south. To the north is Vaucluse Passange and Turtle Bay. To the west is Peterson Point. During the Pacific War, known to Americans as "Mafia Island".
