Monty Armstrong
Aircraft salvage and restoration

Australian Monty Armstrong was involved in the salvage of World War II aircraft from Papua New Guinea (PNG).

During 1973–1975 Armstrong and Charles Darby conducted a six week salvage operation at Tadji Airfield to remove over a dozen aircraft and parts funded by David Tallichet of Yesterday's Air Force (YAF). The aircraft were near the road and barge service was available to load them onto a barge and transport them to Lae then export them to the United States.
