Lt. Anthony J. "Tony" Quigley as student athlete at Loyola University
"One of the finest athletes and one of the finest young men I have ever had the pleasure of coaching" says Jim Needles, former Loyola U. basketball coach and present Director of Athletics at U.S. F., of his protege and one-time star forward, Tony Quigley. Quigley held the forward post for the maroon and white Loyolans under coach Needles for two years during which time they captured high honors in the southwestern championship, humbled the University of California at Los Angeles quintet and crushed the mighty Trojan five from the University of Southern California."
