A commemorative street sign was presented to 2nd Lt Robert R. Wilson nephew, Bob Imgrund during a ceremony at Verona Town Hall in Verona, New Jersey
The presentation by Mayor Christopher Tamburro, Deputy Mayor Jack McEvoy, and Councilwoman Christine McGrath. Also in attendence was Rob Caruso who wrote about Lt. Wilson on his website Verona Heroes. Another sign will be installed at intersection of Harrison Street and S. Prospect Street near Lt. Wilson’s childhood home at 53 Forest Avenue in Verona. On September 15, 1942 Wison was co-pilot B-17F Flying Fortress 41-24427 went Missing In Action (MIA) on a night bombing mission against Rabaul.
