5th Air Force in Color (DVD) In historical terms, this DVD contains unique and rare footage. We were surprised at the variety of coverage. Many of the slides have clarity and color rarely witnessed. Divided into sixteen chapters, including topics such as General George Kenney, 5th AF Commander, the former New Guinea air base of Durand as it is today, aerial combat sequences in New Guinea, the Philippines & Japan. Types of airplanes shown include P-39 Airacobras, B-17 Fortresses, B-25 Mitchells, A-20 Havocs, P-38 Lightnings, P-51 Mustangs, P-61 Black Widows & P-47 Thunderbolts. Also included are scenes from the defeat of Japan, and intact 5th AF relics as they lie in Pacific today. All film on the DVD has been digitally remastered from original 16mm footage to a high degree of quality. The DVDs is NSTC and PAL compatible, playable in all regions.
