Ace of Aces
The Dick Bong Story

This book is a comprehensive biography of Richard I. Bong. First published in 1985 by authors Mike O'Connor and Carl Bong (brother of Richard I. Bong). Reprinted in 2019 by Splash 5 Publishing.

The book is dedicated to Marjorie "Marge" Bong Druker and in memory of Henry Sakaida. The introduction is written by Jonh E. Purdy, President of the American Fighter Aces Association and veteran of the 433nd Fighter Squadron (433nd FS) an ace with seven aerial victory claims. The preface to the 2019 edition talks about the first edition and collaboration with co-author Carl Bong who passed away in 2014.

Ace of Aces also highlights the Richard I. Bong Veterans Heritage Center that preserves the legacy of Bong and displays a P-38 Lightining in the markings of his famous P-38J "Marge" 42-103993.
