NOVA B-29 Frozen In Time The B-29 earned it legacy as being the bomber that brought Japan to its knees in 1945, and delivered the two atomic bombs. B-29 Frozen in Time tells the story of B-29 "Kee Bird" 45-21768 that force landed on the Greenland Ice after running out of fuel in a storm on February 21,1947. A small group of aircraft salvagers led by Darryl Greenamyer undertake the daunting task of replacing the aircraft engines, propellers and repairing other damage caused in the crash landing and by nearly fifty years of weather. Working under the worst conditions on earth they did the job. The movie tells the story of the people involved, you get to know them on a personal level, you laugh when they succeed and cry when they fail, when their own rush to get the plane recovered leads to a simple mistake that causes the complete destruction of the bomber by a fire.
