Baa Baa Black Sheep (Television Show)

Baa Baa Black Sheep was a television show that aired in the United States between 1976-1979. Baa Baa Black Sheep season 1 (1976). Baa Baa Black Sheep Season 2 (1977). The series was also known as the "Black Sheep Squadron".

The show was a fictionalized version of World War II U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) Marine Fighting Squadron 214 (VMF-214) "Black Sheep" in the South Pacific. Loosely based on the book Baa Baa Black Sheep by Gregory "Pappy" Boyington. Most of the series was filmed at Universal Studios, Indian Dunes in California and Indian Dunes Airfield.

In the series, actor Robert Conrad portrayed Major Gregory "Pappy" Boyington. Many of the other characters were based on other pilots in VMF-214 or the South Pacific including Lt Bob Boyle loosely based on Major Donald W. Boyle of VMF-212 portrayed by actor Larry Manetti.
