Dick Bong Ace of Aces Biography of Richard "Dick" Bong written by General George C. Kenney Commanding Officer (C. O.) 5th Air Force (5th AF) with an introduction by Micahel O'Connor. First published in 1960, the book is written in a narrative style of the era and the author might not have been able to access wartime records. Several dates are wrong, including March 9, 1944 [sic March 8, 1944] for the fighter sweep by Lt. Col. Thomas J. Lynch and Captain Richard I. Bong. The first edition was published in 1960 Duell, Sloan and Pearce.
