Japanese Army Air Force Camouflage and Markings World War II Review coming soon... Published in 1968, this book was the first postwar study of Japanese Army Air Force (JAAF) camouflage and markings. The book includes several photos of Japanese Army Air Force (JAAF) aircraft wrecks photographed by Charles Darby during the late 1960s including Ki-48 Lily and Ki-43 Oscars in Papua New Guinea. In 1977, Thorpe published another book on the subject, detailing Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) camouflage and markings: Japanese Naval Air Force Camouflage and Markings World War II.
