Red Wings Over The Yalu
China, the Soviet Union, and the Air War in Korea

This book details the background of Chinese air power during the Korean War. Red Wings Over The Yalu is a meticulously researched history for the formation of the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF), their training and participation in the Korea War flying and fighting with Soviet aircraft and pilots. The Chinese began with captured Japanese planes and Soviet propeller aircraft from World War II. At the start of the Korean War received the Soviet Union's newest plane the MiG-15 jet.

The book has four appendixes listing: A) PLAAF aviation troops 1950-1951, B) Soviet VSS/POV in China 1950-1951, C) Soviet POV Forces in Korea November 1, 1950–July 27, 1953 and D) CVP Air Forces in Korea, December 1950–July 1953.
