Wings of Destiny
Wing Commander Charles Learmonth, DFC and Bar and the Air War in New Guinea

Biography of Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Wing Commander Charles Learmonth, 385 born in Portland, Victoria. The book begins with a forward by Marjorie Le Souef, who was married to Learmonth until his death on January 6, 1944. She describes how she agreed to cooperate fully, sharing her personal letters and recollections to honor his legacy.

Author Charles Page has researched and written a meticulous biography of Learmonth using personal letters with his wife, Marjorie and the larger history of the air war in New Guinea and No. 22 Squadron that he commanded. Author Charles Page also traveled to Papua New Guinea to explore places were Learmonth served including Salamaua, Milne Bay and Goodenough Island.
