3D CGI Zero Fighter This book includes the amazing 3D animation work of master animator, Masaru Tochibayashi, aka "Tochy Suppon". For anyone interested in the best CGI air combat animations, this book is a must for your bookshelf and DVD player. Several years ago, Tochy's animations, available from his website, spread like wildfire across the internet. Tochy's understanding of aircraft, flight and air combat were the marks of his photo realistic renderings of air combat. Added to that was his artistic eye for realism and ability to capture the sites and sounds of air combat from the viewing angles selected. Without a doubt, Tochy's work immediately distinguished him as the leader in World War II Pacific aerial renderings. This new book features CGI renderings of famous Zero fighters. Each is covered in full color spread showing angles, actions and details that no wartime photograph ever recorded. Included are every variant including the A6M2-K two seat trainer and A6M2-N Rufe seaplane version. Plus every variant of the Zero fighter: A6M2, A6M3 and A6M5. In addition are CGI rendered schematics and diagrams of crucial systems like weapons, cowls, folding wingtips and so forth. The renderings also cover many of the famous and little known paint schemes, from the overall specular gray of A6M2 Zeros, to mottled and green of later variants, and markings from dozens of Kokutai. Although the text is Japanese only, the book is enjoyable for any reader, simply for the diagrams and renderings. The book also contains a DVD (encoded region 2 - requires a universal player), that includes two new animations by Tochy: the first depicts the Battle of Midway in June 1942 and Zero pilot Iwamoto. The second depicts the August 7, 1942 Japanese attack on the landing force on Guadalcanal, and the famous dogfight between Saburo Sakai flying an A6M2 Zero and James "Pug" Southerland in an F4F Wildcat. The DVD also includes special feature sections, with DVD quality versions of all of Tochy's previous animations, including 1942, 1945 and renderings of other Japanese aircraft including the Shinden-Kai, F1M2 Pete and Ki-61 Tony. Another section includes in-flight footage of the Planes of Fame A6M5 Zero 5357 and the A6M3 Zero 3869 and wartime footage of captured Zeros being tested in America.
