Sinking History
It appears this vessel was on fire and driven towards the reef on the Southern Atoll at Kawajalein Atoll when sunk. Known locally as "South Pass Wreck".
Discovery
During 1986, discovered lying upright on the reef
with her bow in 70' at the bow and 95' on the stern. The wreck is
80' long and very similar to O-Buoy
Wreck, but
in better condition.
The strong currents and sand have kept this shipwreck from being
extensively explored, but china, brass locks, swords, rifles, medicine
bottles,
clothing, buttons, coins and cases of unused machine gun bullets.
The wheelhouse has collapsed, and a sand bottom makes artifact
searching difficult. Some human remains have been discovered inside.
