Wartime History Assigned to the 1st Marine Tank Battalion, Company B. During December 1943, this tank was held in reserve at Finschafen. After U.S. Army General Krueger called for reinforcement at Arawe, this was one of eighteen tanks landed at Arawe to provide additional firepower to for the U.S. Army 112th Cavalry Regiment. On January 16, 1944 used in a counter attack supported by infantry to route entrenched Japanese from their positions and ended enemy resistance in the Arawe area. Afterwards, this tank was abandoned.
