IJA 222nd Infantry Regiment Tank Company |
Tank History Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) as Type 95 Ha Go Light Tank manufacture number unknown. Wartime History Assigned to the 222nd Infantry Regiment, Tank Company under the command of 1st Lt. Iwasa and transported to Biak Island. This tank was disabled in one of two counterattacks by Japanese tanks against the U.S. Army on Biak Island. Their first counterattack was May 29, 1944 at Parai when seven tanks attacked in two waves. The second counterattack was June 15, 1944 near Mokmer Drome by the last three tanks that were all destroyed. Wreckage This tank is displayed at the Biak Museum.
