Tank History Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) as Type 97 Chi-Ha Medium Tank. Wartime History Assigned to the 9th Tank Regiment and shipped to Manchuria. During April 1944 shipped to Saipan. During June 1944, disabled during the Battle of Saipan and abandoned. Wreckage This tank is displayed on Saipan. The turret is facing rearward. On the rear of the tank is a wooden sign on two planks, the upper reads "Japanese Tank" and the lower in Japanese. References Thanks to Kevin Donahue for additional information Contribute
