7th Hiko Sentai (7th Flying Regiment)

Background
During 1938, established as the 7th Hiko Sentai (9th Flying Regiment) in the Japanese Army Air Force (JAAF). Operated the Ki-21 Sally, Ki-49 Helen and Type 4 Heavy Bomber Hiryu / Ki-67 Peggy.

Wartime History
The 7th Hiko Sentai was assigned to the 9th Hiko Dan (9th Air Brigade) with the 61st Hiko Sentai (61st Flying Regiment) and were the only units operating the Ki-49 in the South-East Area, others were transport units. In early 1944, withdrawn from New Guinea and replaced by the 60th Sentai equipped with the Type 97 / Ki-21 Sally. Afterwards, equipped with the Type 4 Heavy Bomber Hiryu / Ki-67 Peggy.
