Background
During 1938, established as 75th Hiko Sentai (75th Flying Regiment) in the Japanese Army Air Force (JAAF). Operated the Type 98 Light Bomber / Ki-32 Mary. During 1941, converted to the Type 99 Light Bomber / Ki-48 Lily.

Wartime History
During December 1941 the 75th Hiko Sentai participated in the attack on Hong Kong. During 1943, participated in operations over Java and Sumatra and later New Guinea. During January 1944 flew missions against the U.S. landing near Saidor but were unsuccessful.

Markings
Between 1938–1941 while operating the Type 98 Light Bomber / Ki-32 Mary the 75th Hiko Sentai had a red tail rudder with a single horizontal white stripe for the 1st chutai, two horizontal white stripes for the 2nd chutai and three horizontal white stripe for the 3rd chutai.

Between 1941–1945 while operating the Type 99 Light Bomber / Ki-48 Lily the 75th Hiko Sentai had a diagonal strip with a motif on the tail with red for the 1st chutai, blue for the 2nd chutai and yellow for the 3rd chutai.
