Wartime History
On October 25, 1942 begins operating from Carney
Field (Bomber 2) on Guadalcanal. Lost is B-24D 42-40864 pilot 1st Lt. Kenneth M. Greear (9 MIA, 1 rescued) on a mission against Kara on Bougainville.
On August 30, 1943 twenty-four B-24s from 307th BG bomb Kahili Airfield on southern Bougainville. Lost is B-24D 42-40217 pilot 1st Lt. Harry L. McDonald (MIA).
On October 25, 1943 lost is
B-24D 42-40864 pilot 1st Lt. Kenneth M. Greear (MIA).
On January 9, 1944 moves to Munda Airfield on New Georgia.
On February 12, 1944 lost is B-24D 42-72818 pilot 1st Lt. Fred H. Carter (MIA) hit by anti-aircraft and crashed near Wunawatang Plantation northwest of Vunakanau Airfield.
On April 27, 1944 the squadron flies a bombing mission against Dublon Island in Truk Lagoon. Lost is B-24D

On May 13, 1944 moves to Mokerang Airfield on Los Negros.

On July 15, 1944 lost is
B-24J 44-40555 pilot 1st
Lt. Ulna H. Sylor (MIA).
On August 28, 1944 lost is
B-24J 44-40603 pilot Captain William G. Dixon (KIA) hit by anti-aircraft fire and crashed into Koror Harbor off Koror Town.
On November 10, 1944 moves to Pitu Airfield (Pitoe) on Morotai.
On December 10, 1944 lost is
B-24J 44-40929 pilot 2nd Lt. Herbert N. F. Patrick (MIA)
