Wartime History
On October 25, 1942 begins operating from Carney
Field (Bomber 2) on Guadalcanal. Lost is B-24D 42-40864 pilot 1st Lt. Kenneth M. Greear (9 MIA, 1 rescued) on a mission against Kara on Bougainville.
On January 9, 1944 moves to Munda Airfield on New Georgia.
On April 27, 1944 the squadron flies a bombing mission against Dublon Island in Truk Lagoon. Lost is B-24D

On May 13, 1944 moves to Mokerang Airfield on Los Negros.
