Background
The Headquarters Squadron (HQ) of the 19th Bombardment Group (19th BG). During December 1941 part of the Far East Air Force (FEAF) in the Philippines.

Wartime History
On December 8, 1941 at the start of the Pacific War at Clark Field.

On December 24, 1941 withdraws to Batchelor Field near Darwin in Australia. On December 30, 1941 transfer from Batchelor Field to Singosari Airfield on Java.

On March 2, 1942 withdraws from Singosari Airfield on Java south via Darwin to Melbourne and becomes part of the 5th Air Force (5th AF).

On May 18, 1942 moves to Longreach.

On July 24, 1942 moves to Mareeba Airfield.

Next, withdrew again to Australia and redeployed to northern Queensland and New Guinea with the 5th Air Force (5th AF). Afterwards, returned to the United States and retrained on the B-29 Superfortress. On January 16, 1945 the entire 19th BG deploys to North Field on Guam and flying strategic bombing missions against Japan until the end of the Pacific War.

On December 30, 1942 Headquarters Squadron (HQ), 19th Bombardment Group without personnel and equipment reestablished at Pocatello, Idaho and re-equipped with B-17s and becomes a replacement training unit. During 1944, re-equipped with B-29s. During January 1945 moves to Guam.
