Wartime History
Built by Kato with a Chevrolet straight eight engine. Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN). Transported to Rabaul and used on a 610mm narrow gauge rail road at Tobera Airfield. This tractor was used to pull carts full of dirt to patch the runway when damaged by Allied bombing. This locomotive was repeatedly strafed causing bullet holes in the armor plate. Abandoned inside an earth revetment at the airfield.

Wreckage
Remains in situ at Tobera Airfield. During the late 1990s, the engine cover full of bullet holes was removed to the plantation owner's house nearby.
