Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as A-20G-40-DO Havoc serial number 43-21293. Disassembled and shipped overseas to the South West Pacific Area (SWPA) and reassembled. Wartime History Assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF), 3rd Bombardment Group (3rd BG), 13th Bombardment Squadron (13th BS). No known nickname or nose art. Mission History On June 7, 1944 took off on a mission and crashed in the Markham Valley roughly four miles from Nadzab. The crew were unhurt in the crash landing. Ultimate fate unknown. References Note, although this is a vaild serial number, it is unclear if this aircraft is confused with the loss of A-20G Havoc 43-21327 Missing In Action (MIA) June 22, 1944 in 13th Bombardment Squadron records, or if this aircraft was indeed lost in a non-fatal crash.
