Aircraft History Built by Douglas Aircraft Company. Constructors Number 21073. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as A-20G-40-DO Havoc serial number 43-21426. Disassembled and shipped overseas to the South West Pacific Area (SWPA) and reassembled in Australia. Wartime History Assigned to the 5th Air Force, 417th Bombardment Group "Sky Lancers" (417th BG), 674th Bombardment Squadron (674th BS). No known nickname or nose art. This A-20 flew combat missions in New Guinea. During July 1944, assigned to the 312th Bombardment Group, 387th Bombardment Squadron. Tail letter A. Nicknamed "Eloise" with the unit's skull and cross bones marking on the nose. Flew combat missions in New Guinea until September 1944. Later, assigned to the 8th Service Group (8th SrG) or 360th Service Group (360th SrG) part of the Far East Air Force - Combat Replacement Training Center (FEAF-CRTC) based at Nadzab Airfield.
