Aircraft History Built by Douglas Aircraft Company. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as A-20G Havoc serial number unknown. Disassembled and shipped overseas to Australia and reassembled. Wartime History Assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF). Likely assigned to the 3rd Bombardment Group (3rd BG), 312th Bombardment Group (312th BG) or 417th Bombardment Group (417th BG). No known nickname or nose art. Mission History This A-20 force landed in shallow water near the beach at Iokea. Pilot and mission history are unknown. Wreckage The wreckage of this A-20 including the center section remains in shallow water in a tidal area. Justin Taylan visited on October 22, 2007: "I visited this crash site of a twin engine aircraft with Kieth Hopper. It was in waist deep water when we visited. Nearly all of the aircraft is scrapped or covered under the sand. Visible were the wing, fuselage and tip of one blade of each propeller. From an extrusion at the rear fuselage for a top turret, we speculated this is a A-20 Havoc." Contribute
