Wartime History
Disabled or abandoned in a revetment at Vila Airfield on Kolombangara Island.

Wreckage
During late 1943, this Zero was surveyed by U.S. Army. The manufacture number is unknown, but likely one of two A6M3 Model 22 Zeros surveyed at the airfield: A6M3 Zero 3478 or A6M3 Zero 3793.

Wreckage
As of September 2003, only portions of the fuselage, the rear canopy and the left wing remain in situ.
