B-24D "Queenie Take It Off" 41-23870 on the right side of the nose
The nose art depicts a female nude with both hands raised wearing high heels and nearby a bow. The nickname "Queenie Take It Off" is in white block letters. This Liberator was one of the first assigned to the 370th Bombardment Squadron (370th BS) and flew missions until ditched February 16, 1943 off San Cristobal Island (Makira). Afterwards, the crew rescued aside from tail gunner SSgt Eugene F. Gartland listed as Missing In Action (MIA).
