Wartime History Assigned to the 13th Air Force (13th AF). Mission History This B-24 ditched or crashed into the lagoon near Saerama Island on the northeastern side of Choiseul Island in Choiseul Province in the Solomon Islands. Possible identities of this bomber include: B-24D 41-23957 pilot McNeese crashed February 13, 1943 = NO B-24D 42-40210 pilot Frampton MIA October 10, 1943 = NO B-24D 42-40864 pilot Greear MIA October 25, 1943 = NO Wreckage During 2002, this aircraft was located in the lagoon.
