Aircraft History Built by North American Aviation (NAA). Constructors Number unknown. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as B-25 Mitchell model and serial number unknown. Ferried overseas via Hickam Field then across the Pacific to Australia. Wartime History Assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF). Mission History This B-25 crashed onto Cape Moem to the east of Wewak. Wreckage The wreckage of this B-25 was scrapped post war. As of 2004, a pair of Wright R-2600 radial engines are located in near the housing for the PNG Defense Force (PNGDF) at Moem Barracks on Cape Moem. Likely, these engines are associated with B-25D "Miss Ellen" 41-30185 crashed March 19, 1944. Justin Taylan adds: "I visited this site in 2004 with John Douglas and Charlie Wintawa. A pair of engines were in the PNG Defense Force (PNGDF) housing area at Moem Barracks. No other wreckage was in the vicinity. According to locals, the rest of the plane was scrapped." Contribute
