Aircraft History Built by Lockheed Aircraft Corporation (LAC) in Burbank. Constructors Number 6045. On September 17, 1941 assigned USAAF serial number 41-23186. Disassembled and shipped overseas to Australia as part of Defence Aid. On December 8, 1941 assigned to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as Hudson A16-116. Reassembled by 1 Air Depot (1 AD) and test flown on December 20, 1941. On December 28, 1941 assigned to 14 Squadron. On April 1, 1942 this Hudson was damaged when it was hit in the rudder by a tractor. Afterwards, repaired. On November 16, 1942 collided with the wingtip of Hudson A16-122 and afterwards repaired. On December 5, 1942 assigned to No. 32 Squadron. On December 27, 1942 this Hudson suffered an undercarriage collapse while landing at Camden Airfield. On January 10, 1943 assigned to 2 Air Depot (2 AD) and repaired and used as a transport. On 5 Air Depot (5 AD) fitted with ASV. On September 30, 1943 issued to 2 AP. On October 8, 1943 modified as a transport aircraft for use as a VIP transport. During late 1943, used by Australian Army General Blamey as a personal transport until March 23, 1945 when he switch to Lodestar A67-10. On March 24, 1945 assigned to 1 CU. On April 14, 1945 received by 1 Operational Training Unit (1 OTU) then returned to 1 CU on October 19, 1945. Postwar Used by CSIRO for fishing convoy patrols around the southwest coast of Australia. On August 12, 1946 received by SHQ Flight at Pearce Airfield in WA. On October 1, 1946 placed into storage. On April 1, 1947 sold to MacRobertson Miller Airlines for use for spare parts.
