Aircraft History
Built by Lockheed Aircraft Corporation (LAC) in Burbank. Constructor Number 414-6063. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) A-28-LO Hudson serial number 41-23204. Disassembled and shipped overseas as part of Defense Aid to Australia.

On December 15, 1941 delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as Hudson serial number A16-135. Assigned to 2 Air Depot (2 AD) and test flown on December 21, 1941. On December 24, 1941 assigned to No. 6 Squadron.

Wartime History
On February 1, 1942 took off from Garbutt Field at Townsville and flown to 7 Mile Drome near Port Moresby.

On March 22, 1942 at 7:34am took off from 7 Mile Drome near Port Moresby on a reconnaissance mission over Lae Airfield with Hudson A16-169. Over the target both were intercepted by A6M2 pilot Yamazaki and A6M2 pilot Kikuchii. Both Zeros were hit by defensive machine gun fire and crashed. This Hudson was damaged by gunfire and repaired by March 26, 1942.

On April 2, 1942 assigned to No. 32 Squadron. On April 6, 1942 assigned to 5 Air Depot (5 AD). On September 18, 1942 assigned to No. 13 Squadron. On November 12, 1942 to 1 Repair Salvage Unit (1 RSU) and sixteen days later returned to No. 13 Squadron.

On January 5, 1943 assigned to 3 Air Depot (3 AD). On April 9, 1943 assigned to No. 6 Squadron. Afterwards to 7 Air Depot (7 AD) then to No. 6 Squadron on September 10, 1943 to become a C-63 then to No. 38 Squadron on November 7, 1943 ferried to Tocumwal Airfield by Commanding Officer (C. O.) Squadron Leader C. C. Forman of the RAF.

On February 16, 1944 fitted with dual controls and transferred to 1 Operational Training Unit (1 OTU) on June 10, 1944 and used for special duty with 1 Communication Unit (1 CU), ferrying the British Air Mission equipped with eight seats in the fuselage for passengers.

Postwar
At the end of the Pacific War, issued to 2 Air Depot (2 AD) for storage. On November 29, 1945 and used for Bush Fire Patrols by 1 OTU then placed in storage on March 1, 1946 and offered for disposal on July 28, 1946. Sold to D. G. Stuart, Cremorne on September 24, 1947 for £100 and collected on August 16, 1948. Ultimate fate unknown likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared.
