Aircraft History Built by Lockheed Aircraft Corporation (LAC) in Burbank. Constructors Number 6351. On December 18, 1941 delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) RA-29 Hudson serial number 41-23534. Royal Air Force (RAF) serial number BW672. Disassembled and shipped overseas as part of Defence Aid to Australia. Wartime History On March 23, 1942 assigned to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as Hudson A16-179. Reassembled by 1 Air Depot (1 AD). Assigned to 32 Squadron. No known nickname or nose art. This Hudson was flown from Garbutt Field at Townsville via Horn Island Airfield to Port Moresby arriving July 9, 1942. Departs July 13, 1942 to Horn Island Airfield and returned to Port Moresby on July 17, 1942. On July 20, 1942 parked in a revetment at 3 Mile Drome (Kila Kila) near Port Moresby. During a Japanese air raid, this bomber was burned and completely destroyed. Officially stricken off charge on July 24, 1942.
