Aircraft History Built by Convair as an OY-1 Sentinel. Assigned to the U.S. Army as L-5 Sentinel serial number 42-98752. Delivered to the U.S. Navy (USN) OY-1 Sentinel bureau number 60507. Assigned to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC). Postwar Used as a glider tug by the Caesars Creek Soaring Society until it ran out of fuel and crashed upside down in the trees. The pilot was unhurt but the aircraft was firmly stuck in the trees. Restoration Between 1992-2003 restored to flying condition by the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Midland Texas. Today Owned by the American Airpower Heritage Flight Museum in Dallas, Texas. On March 9, 1992 registered as N-1156V. Operated by the CAF National Capital Squadron. Painted to represent a U.S. Army Stinson L-5 Sentinel with tail serial number 42-990444. Painted in the markings of L-5 "Gayle Ann" 42-98758.
