Aircraft History Built by Lockheed Aircraft Corporation (LAC) in Burbank. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as P-38G-5-LO Lightning serial number unknown. Disassembled and shipped overseas and reassembled. Wartime History Assigned to the 5th Air Force, 475th Fighter Group, 431st Fighter Squadron. Nicknamed "G. I. Annie". Assigned to John Jones. Wreckage This aircraft was coded CILHI site "PNG 71" on the coast of northwest of Port Moresby near Malalua inland from the coast from Terapo. References Note some references state this aircraft was P-38G Lightning 42-12806 but sources state that serial number was assigned to the 12th AF, 82nd FG, 87th FS crashed January 31, 1943 piloted by William J.
