Pilot Lt. Jack Cohen, O-429359 (survived) Crashed April 11, 1943 MACR none Aircraft History Built by Bell in Buffalo, New York. Assigned to the U.S. Army, serial number unknown. Disassembled and shipped overseas to Australia and reassembled. Wartime History Assigned to the 5th Air Force, 35th Fighter Group, 41st Fighter Squadron. No known nose art or nickname. Mission History On April 11, 1943 took off from Port Moresby on a mission over Wau. Returning, the engine of this aircraft began smoking and Cohen successfully bailed out in the vicinity of Port Moresby and landed unhurt. Fates of the Pilot Cohen returned to duty the same day.
