Aircraft History
Built by Republic. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as P-47D Thuderbolt serial number uknown. Disassembled and shipped overseas to the South West Pacific Area (SWPA) and reassembled.

Wartime History
Assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF), 35th Fighter Group (35th FG), 41st Fighter Squadron (41st FS) "The Flying Buzzsaws". No known nose art or nickname.

Mission History
On March 14, 1944 took off from Gusap Airfield piloted by 2nd Lt. Richard K. Murr on a mission against Wewak, Returing from the mission, Murr became lost and was forced to crash land at Terapo Airfield due to fuel shortage. He suffered slight shock and was taken to the 117th Station Hospital (Nadzab) at Nadzab.

Memorials
Murr was promoted to the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He passed away May 23, 1976 at age 57. He is buried at Greenwood Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Fort Worth, TX at section 11E.
