Location
Lat 8° 10' 11S 146° 11' 40E  Terapo Airfield is located near Terapo and the Lakekamu River roughly ten miles inland from the the Gulf of Papua. Roughly 200 miles to the southeast is Port Moresby. Today located in the Kerema District of Gulf Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

Construction
Built by the Allies as a single runway.

Wartime History
Used to support the Australian Army in the area and for emergency landings. No Allied aircraft were permanently based at this airfield.

During 1943, several Allied aviators were taken to Terapo Airfield and flown back to Port Moresby, including Lt. George E. Morgan who force landed his P-38 Lightning 42-12650 on July 16, 1943 roughly 40 miles from Kerema.
