Aircraft History Built by Northrop. Constructors Number 1376. Assigned to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as P-61C-1-NO Black Widow serial number 43-8330. On September 18, 1947 assigned to the U.S. Air Force (USAF). Plainted in the markings "TEST NACA A3" in red on the tail booms and a yellow stripe on the tail above the serial number. Display This aircraft was transfered to the National Air & Space Museum (NASM). Stored at the NASM Paul Garber Facility. On June 8, 2006 unveiled at the NASM Udvar Hazy Center. References USAF Serial Number Search Results - P-61C-1-NO Black Widow 43-8330 "8330 (MSN 1376) donated to Smithsonian Institution in 1950, but Loaned to NACA Ames Aeronautical Laboratory, NAS Moffett Field, CA Feb 5, 1951 to Aug 10, 1954. Registered as NACA 330 Used for transonic model tests, back to the museum in 1954. Was for many years stored at Paul Garber facility of Smithsonian Institution.
