The Udvar-Hazy Center was opened in December 2003 to displays a large portion of the Smithsonian Institution National Air & Space Museum (NASM) aircraft collection. The Mary Baker Engen Restoration Hangar where aircraft restoration and repairs are performed on the collection. Also, the National Air & Space Museum archives and researcher center. Previously, many of the aircraft on display at the Udvar-Hazy Center were in storage at the National Air & Space Museum (NASM) Paul E. Garber Facility. Also, the National Air & Space Museum (NASM) Downtown displays other aircraft in the collection.
