Built by Consolidated Aircraft Corporation in San Diego. Constructors Number 2008. Delivered to the U.S. Navy (USN) as PBY-6A Catalina Bureau Number 46644.
Postwar
This Catalina was registered in the United States as N6458C. Next, registered in Canada as C-GFFH. Then registered in Spain as EC-359. And later re-registered as EC-EVK and used as a water bomber.
Finally, registered in Australia as VH-EAX and flown via Bahrain to Australia. Qantas had previously operated ex-RAAF PB2B-2 Catalina A24-378 as VH-EAX.
Today
On display at the Qantas Founders Museum at Longreach, Queensland.
