Location Darwin Harbor Seaplane Base is located in Darwin Harbor near Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia. Also known as Doctor's Gully. Construction During the Pacific War, the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Marine Section built a Marine Section Workshop to support PBY Catalina flying boat operations at Doctor's Gully on the shore of Darwin near the northwest end of the Esplanade to support the Doctor's Gully Flying Boat Base.
