(USN) Task Force 58 under the command of Vice Admiral M. A. Mitscher launches raid against Woleai, including USS Alabama (BB-60). Lost are F6F 40691 (MIA) F6F 40695 (rescued), TBM 25443 (resuced), F6F 25827 (resuced), F6F 40078 (resuced). Serving on lifeguard duty, USS Harder SS-257 rescues Ensign Galvin from Taugalap Island.

(Japanese) Anti-Aircraft units noted 24 aircraft over the island.
