American missions against Bali and Denpasar (Den Passar)
February 19, 1942–November 17, 1943

February 19, 1942
(5th AF) A-24s, with P-40 escort, and B-17's operating out of Malang, Madioen, and Jogjakarta, attack vessels landing troops on Bali; the attacks, carried out during the aftenoon of 19 Feb and throughout the morning of 20 Feb, cause considerable damage to vessels but fail to halt the landings.

February 20, 1942–March 1, 1942
(5th AF) Bombers from Java fly about 20 sorties usually in two and three aircraft elements, against shipping in the Java Sea and against targets on Bali. Eleven sortires are complete failures; the remainder, although causing some damage to vessels and airfield facilities, fail to deter the Japanese invasion.

February 20, 1942
(5th AF) A-24 Dive bombers attack the Japanese landing force off Bali. Lost is A-24 41-15796 (MIA)

February 23, 1942
(5th AF) Two B-17s bomb Denpasar Airfield from 27,000' through thick clouds.

February 25, 1945
(USN) Lost is PBY Catalina 28-5MNE (MIA)

November 17, 1943
(5th AF) During the night of November 17-18 B-24's bomb Denpasar
