Location Sidate Airfield was located at Sidate on the Minahassa peninsula of northern Celebes Island (Sulawesi). Prewar and during the Pacific War located in the Netherlands East Indies (NEI). Today located in Minahasa Regency in North Sulawesi Province (Sulawesi Utara) in Indonesia. Wartime History Used by the Japanese during the Pacific War. Starting in the middle of September 1944 attacked by Allied bombers and fighters until early August 1945. Occupied by the Japanese until the official surrender of Japan in early September 1945.
