Location
Lat 0° 45' 0" Long 127° 34' 0" Sofifi Airfield is located at Sofifi (Oba) the northeast coast of Halmahera Island (Pulau Halmahera) in the Molucca Island Group (Molucca Islands). Borders Dodinga Bay and the Oba River. Also known as Oba Airfield. Prewar and during the Pacific War located in the Netherlands East Indies (NEI). Today located in North Maluku Province (Provinsi Maluku Utara) in Indonesia.
Wartime History
During the Pacific War, used by the Japanese.
