    Sorido Airfield (Sorido Drome) Biak Numfor Regency | Papua Province Indonesia

Location
Sorido Airfield is located near Sorido village, parallel to the southern coast of Biak Island, less than 100 yards from the beach. Sorido Airfield is the furthest west of the three airfields on Biak Island. To the east are Boroke Airfield and Mokmer Airfield. To the south is Yapen Strait (Japen Strait).

Construction
Built by the Japanese as a single runway surfaced with crushed coral.

Wartime History
During late May 1944, liberated by the U.S. Army 41st Division. Repaired and expanded for American flight operations.

Today
Disused since the Pacific War. Today the former airfield area is developed with housing.
